Pantages Hotel is currently recruiting a full time (32-40 hrs) Cook 1 to take its food and beverage operation to the next level. Key Responsibilities

  • Able to read and understand and follow recipes BEO and other kitchen required documents.
  • Ordering, preparing, execution as well as post event clean up
  • Able to work collaboratively with leadership and direct a team in the absence of chef D’ Cuisine
  • Able to adjust and adapt to dietary restrictions and concerns
  • Has a strong understanding of food safety protocols
  • Waste management
  • Cooking of meats, fish, grains & vegetables with a good understanding of mixed cooking methods
  • Ensure that proper Health & Safety and sanitation practices are utilised.
  • Ensure smooth kitchen operations by coordinating with related Food and Beverage Departments.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Available to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What we are looking for...

  • Must be Red Seal Certified.
  • Must have valid Food Handlers Certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene.
  • Positive and professional attitude and appearance.
  • High level of accuracy, and a strong commitment to detail.
  • Work well under pressure and in a team environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
