Project Manager

Silver Hotel Group is currently recruiting for a Project Manager, Reporting to Corporate Director of Engineering & Projects.

The Project Manager is primarily responsible is to monitor and control the project deliverable throughout its life cycle from Initiation, Planning execution to closer for a wide variety of projects including new built, Renovation and capital improvement projects. The Project Manager is expected to address technical inquiries, aid in the identification and resolution of on-site technical challenges and make timely and budget-conscious decisions to ensure project success. Furthermore, the Project Manager is responsible for closely managing project stakeholders through effective and clear communication with all parties in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Corporate Director of Engineering & Projects, the Project Manager is responsible for:

  • Drive and manage the preparation of projects management plans including Scope, schedule baseline and budgets.
  • Developing a project control budget and baseline schedule aligned to scope.
  • Effectively manage project constraints (Budget, Schedule, and Quality) to ensure the delivery of the project scope.
  • Mange Procurement process including preparation of tender documents, material survey bids evaluation.
  • Identify, track, manage and mitigate project risks.
  • Leading project meetings, generating meeting minutes, and preparing progress reports.
  • Issue Project Release (PR) documentation, Purchase Orders (PO), and coordinate the invoice approval process.
  • Maintaining complete and accurate project documentation, easily retrievable and suitable for audit
  • Conduct project planning including pricing, material review, reselection, and value engineering.
  • Conducts regular site visits to review project planning.
  • Assist with negotiating prices with contractors and consultants as well as review project costs and find creative ways to reduce costs.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with trade contractors, architects, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Review and reconcile project budgets.
  • Monitor project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, equipment maintenance, safety of environment, and quality control.
  • Monitors the crew's work through direct supervision or site spot checks.
  • Provides constant supervision to monitor the progress of each installation and makes the adjustments necessary to ensure an efficient project.
  • Communicates with all stakeholders on the progress of each project.
  • Address all identified deficiencies for each project.
  • Ensures comprehensive project close-out.
  • Lead/assist in negotiation of claims/disputes with trade contractors, subtrades, and consultants.
  • Other duties assigned.

What We are Looking for...

  • A minimum of 5+ years progressive experience leading up to a Project Manager role, delivering new build and renovation projects.
  • Experience with executing projects hospitality industry is an asset.
  • Ability to understand and employ engineering/construction plans/specifications, methods, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in project management software, such as Microsoft Project or similar tools.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of relevant construction law and building codes.
  • Ability to solve problems related to construction.
  • Detail oriented and able to work within very tight timelines.
  • Superior organizational and communication skills.
  • The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Can speak, read, write and understand English.
