Introduction

Silver Hotel Group is currently looking for a hard-working team player to fill the position of Commercial Property Manager. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing commercial properties including commercial and residential tenancies and parking lots, an understanding of real estate operations, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Reporting to the Corporate Director, Operations/Finance, the successful candidate is expected to be self-motivated, organized, accurate, efficient, analytical, and able to multi-task and meet stringent deadlines.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The Commercial Property Manager will:

Tenant Relations:

  • Cultivate positive relationships with tenants to enhance satisfaction and retention.
  • Address tenant concerns and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate and oversee lease agreements and management contracts, renewals, and negotiations.

 Property Operations:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, maintenance, and security of commercial properties.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors, vendors, third-party managers, and maintenance staff.

 Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage property budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
  • Monitor rent collection, arrears, and work with accounting to resolve any financial discrepancies.
  • Provide financial reports to ownership and stakeholders.

 Lease Administration:

  • Manage lease administration processes, including lease abstracts and tenant compliance.
  • Track lease expirations and proactively negotiate lease renewals or new agreements.

 Company, Legal and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay informed about local, provincial, and federal regulations affecting commercial properties.
  • Ensure properties comply with all necessary regulations and codes.
  • Adhere to existing company policies and procedures

Perform any other duties as assigned

Job Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, or related field an asset.
  • Minimum of two years’ demonstrated experience in commercial property management.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate law, leasing practices, and property operations.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong administrative, organizational and time management skills 
  • Strong computer skills - proficient in property management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Sage accounting software
  • Friendly and cooperative disposition and easily able to work cooperatively with team members
  • Exceptional analytical skills to prepare reports and to solve routine problems
  • Available to work evenings/weekends as required.
