Sales Manager, Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Airport

Silver Hotel Group is currently recruiting for a Sales Manager for the Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Airport. Reporting to the Complex Director of Sales and/or General Manager, the Sales Manager will deliver exceptional guest service and strong financial results. The position will take the leadership role in developing and implementing innovative sales strategies aimed at new business development and client retention, and will do so with charisma, a “can do” attitude, and the passion to succeed.

As a member of the SHG Team, the Sales Manager will be a key driver for the performance in line with overall vision of sales structure for the company. This position will provide leadership and support to the team members and liaise between the sales, revenue management, and the hotel leadership teams. The new leader will work with the team to develop and execute strong strategic sales and revenue management initiatives that will focus on building long-term, customer relationships, and enabling the achievement of the property’s financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

This position will be required to:

  • Proactively soliciting and qualifying new business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections, written communication, and client entertainment
  • Conducting targeted account research to determine revenue potential.
  • Participating in daily business review meetings, training, and other sales-related meetings as required.
  • Being knowledgeable of the local market, national companies, market trends, competition, and customers.
  • Working with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers.
  • Attending trade shows, community events, and industry meetings;
  • Responding to sales leads and clients’ requests within 24hrs.
  • Preparing and customizing sales presentations and proposals to meet client’s needs.
  • Working in harmony with other departments to execute groups and catering.
  • Producing quarterly plans and weekly reports with plans to follow through on activities targets and annual revenue goals.
  • Analyzing current and potential market trends; coordinating all activities to maintain and increase revenue through added business volume and increased rates.
  • Executing sales trips to key market areas.
  • Maintaining accounts in Delphi with all pertinent information.
  • Monitoring and assessing service and satisfaction trends, evaluating and addressing issues, and making improvements accordingly.
  • Conducting weekly MOD shifts
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales and/or General Manager.
  • Follow & complete sales action plans.
  • Delphi Knowledge an asset.
  • Hilton Experience an asset.
  • Create and implement action plans for Group & Catering Segments, Growth
  • Develop strong community and public relations presence by maintaining participation in local, regional, and national tradeshows and client events with the complex director of Sales.

What We are Looking for...

  • Minimum 3 years of hotel sales with a proven track record in leading a highly motivated and successful team.
  • Experience in Group & Catering Segments.
  • Experience in the Toronto Airport or in addition to Toronto hospitality market highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated skills in building rapport with clients for a strong working environment, as well as being self motivated and able to work independently.
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and time management skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel.
  • Available to work evenings/weekends as required.
