Night Auditor

We are currently hiring a Night Audit Supervisor to join our dynamic team! The Night Audit Supervisor is the first point of contact at night and the duties include acting as a Front Desk Agent, balancing accounts from shifts, and assisting hotel guests with requests. In addition to the core job requirements, skill sets and work-related experience; the ideal candidate will illustrate the ability and drive to:

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Guest Services Manager or designate:


        · Delivers exceptional guest experiences by ensuring the Front Office Department is consistently meeting or exceeding service standards.

        · Stays constantly aware of Front Office KPIs and metrics, motivating staff to achieve mandatory goals.
        · Acts as a management representative on behalf of the Guest Services Manager during the overnight shift.
        · Acts as MOD, assisting other departments as needed to ensure smooth hotel operations.
        · Evaluates the performance of each night auditor and provides effective feedback to the Guest Services Manager.
        · Maintains strong working relationships and clear communication with all hotel departments.
        · Manages emergency procedures during the overnight shift to ensure safety and security.
        · Identifies, resolves, and properly reports any POS/PMS mapping errors between Opera 5.6 and the restaurant’s Silverware system.
        · Analyzes the night audit procedure and proposes innovative changes to the Guest Services Manager to streamline and enhance accuracy.
        · Identifies transaction and posting errors daily, making necessary adjustments to the DRR to ensure accuracy in financial reports.
        · Verifies that accurate room status information is maintained and properly communicated.
        · Resolves guest issues quickly, efficiently, and courteously, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
        · Receives the shift handover from the previous MOD and passes on relevant details to the oncoming manager.
        · Oversees night audit procedures, ensuring the reconciliation of all accounts and ledgers is completed accurately.
        · Executes critical end-of-the-month procedures, reports, and end-of-year audit procedures; maintains all reports and tracking sheets to ensure accuracy.
        · Ensures the consistent implementation of all hotel policies and house rules, maintaining a secure and compliant environment.
        · Operates all aspects of the Front Office computer system, including overseeing overnight software maintenance, report generation, analysis, and simple configuration changes.
        · Monitors VIP and special guest requests, ensuring all preferences are met.
        · Actively participates in department meetings, contributing ideas and feedback for continuous improvement.
        · Assists with administrative duties and projects aimed at elevating the overall hotel experience.
        · Oversees certificate and points redemption for World of Hyatt reservations, ensuring monthly reconciliation for accurate payments from Hyatt.
        · Protects the privacy and security of guests and team members, adhering to all company policies.

What We are Looking for...

  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field; or a 2-year college degree and a minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in a related field

    · Previous supervisory responsibilities are preferred

    · Previous accounting related experience an asset

    · Experience working with Opera 5.6 PMS and Silverware POS an asset

    · Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner

    · Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests

    · Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadline

    · Able to stand for an 8-hour shift 

    · Must be able to work evenings and overnights including weekends and holidays
