Your Role

The Rooms Division Supervisor, in collaboration with the Front Office Manager and the Director of Housekeeping, is not only responsible for the inspection of the rooms and ensuring they are up to the property’s standard of quality. They also ensure smooth processes and high compliance in terms of guest relations, housekeeping, and reservation standards by overseeing the operations of both departments to ensure an overall perfect guest experience.

The Rooms Division Supervisor is primarily responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting the Housekeeping and Front Office teams in delivering efficient, high-quality daily operation
  • Supervising each shift and ensuring team members consistently follow hotel policies, service standards, and operating procedures
  • Maintaining exceptional cleanliness, presentation, and care throughout guest rooms, public areas, and Housekeeping spaces
  • Inspecting guest rooms, common areas, storage rooms, and utility spaces to ensure cleanliness, safety, organization, and proper inventory control
  • Training, coaching, and motivating team members while providing direction and resolving operational concerns
  • Creating memorable guest experiences by delivering warm, attentive service and ensuring the team responds promptly to guest needs
  • Responding to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns in person and by telephone with professionalism and care
  • Resolving guest concerns quickly and effectively to maintain high levels of satisfaction and service quality
  • Supporting Front Desk operations, including reservations, incoming and outgoing calls, wake-up calls, guest requests, and other in-house services
  • Supervising guest arrivals and departures while ensuring check-in, payment, and security procedures are followed
  • Managing Front Desk cash transactions and maintaining responsibility for assigned funds in accordance with hotel policies
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date Front Office and hotel logbooks and ensuring outstanding items are actioned
  • Monitoring the proper use and care of Housekeeping supplies and equipment and coordinating repair requirements with the Maintenance team
  • Building strong working relationships and collaborating with Housekeeping, Reservations, Maintenance, and other hotel departments
  • Contributing ideas and recommendations during departmental meetings, hotel committees, and special projects
  • Supporting departmental purchasing and processing invoices in accordance with approved procedures and budget requirements
  • Promoting a safe and efficient work environment by ensuring compliance with company health, safety, and security procedures
  • Identifying and reporting suspicious activity, safety concerns, and maintenance issues to the appropriate leader
  • Inspiring a positive, collaborative team environment focused on operational excellence and outstanding hospitality

What You Bring to the Table

  • Practical experience managing Front Desk and Housekeeping departments highly recommended. Monitor the cleanliness of the public areas and great attention to detail.
  • A minimum of 2 years hotel experience and one year in a significant managerial role, previous housekeeping experience an asset. Diploma, degree, or master’s in hospitality – food & beverage, or hospitality management school.
  • Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • The ability to demonstrate skills of an approachable coach that cultivates a work environment that encourages feedback.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
