Reporting to the Front Office Manager, you’ll:

Provide friendly, attentive, and timely service to guests, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
Accurately take customer orders and serve beverages and snacks efficiently.
Recommend drinks based on guest preferences using suggestive selling and up-selling techniques.
Verify guest identification when necessary to ensure compliance with alcohol and tobacco laws.
Assist in the planning, development, and presentation of the bar menu.

Your Role
Reporting to our Corporate Director of Engineering & Projects, you will work on a wide range of projects including small and large-scale renovations, capital improvements and maintenance of hotels and commercial property, new build construction projects and property conversions. The Project Manager is primarily responsible for:

Leading renovation and development projects from initiation to completion.
Acting as a primary liaison between ownership, operations, design consultants, contractors, third party project management companies and internal teams during the project lifecycle.
Developing and managing project budgets, forecasts, and cost-control measures.
Establishing and maintaining contractor and vendor relationships.
Preparing Project scopes, RFBs, and sourcing the right trades to quote on each project.
Reviewing and assessing bids/quotes and negotiating the best pricing for each project.
Collaborating with architects, interior designers, and brand teams to develop and review design concepts.
Conducting site visits, monitoring progress, and resolving project issues.
Supporting hotel maintenance and management teams to complete capital and small-scale renovation projects.

What You Bring to the Table

Minimum of 5 years of progressive project management experience within hospitality, real estate or construction industries.
Bachelor’s degree or certificate in architecture, engineering, construction management, project management or a related field.
Ability to understand and execute engineering/construction plans/specifications, methods, and procedures.
Experience in design coordination and construction oversight...Design flair is an asset.
Strong knowledge of building systems, design standards, construction methodologies, and project delivery methods.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet), Drawing/Design tools and design review platforms.

House Person
We are currently recruiting for a Full Time Night House Person!  Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the primary responsibility of the House Person is to ensure that the cleanliness and the quality of the overall hotel meet the highest industry standards, thus providing our guests with an outstanding product to enjoy.  The focus is on providing hands-on, timely, and genuine guest service.  The House Person is responsible for ensuring public areas of the Hotel are cleaned and linens are restocked for fellow team members.

Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the House Person’s responsibilities include:

Cleaning designated areas including, but not limited to, restrooms, public areas, offices, and banquet/meeting/conference rooms;
Perform tasks including, but not limited to, dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and shampooing carpets, washing windows, cleaning/waxing floors, removing and disposing of trash and emptying ashtrays;
Greet guests in a friendly manner;
Report maintenance deficiencies and items in need of repair;
Stock and maintain supply rooms, as needed;
Perform deep cleaning tasks and special projects (for example mattress flipping, furniture moves, etc.), as needed;
Deliver guest requests and assist in cleaning guest rooms, as needed;
Cleaning of guestrooms (cleaning behind beds and armoires, washing walls, cleaning light shades.);
Assisting room attendants by removing dirty linen and garbage from their carts;
Assisting in robe and linen inventories;
Other duties as assigned.
 Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): 

Constant standing and walking throughout shift;
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs;
Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting;

What we are Looking for...

Housekeeping experience is desirable but not required;
Basic knowledge of cleaning and industrial equipment and cleaning materials desired but not required;

Ability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related equipment over sloping and uneven surfaces;

Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination;

Reporting to the Guest Services Manager, the Guest Service Agent will:

Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times with guests and team members;
Comply with all company standards and brand standards, if applicable;
Interact with all guests during check-in and check-out procedure;
Create and cancel reservations as required, handle check-in and check-outs;
Greet all incoming and outgoing calls in a professional and timely manner;
Review logbook, and emails daily and complete all tasks on the checklist;

What We are Looking for...

Customer Service experience, preferably in a Hotel Front Desk position;

A self-motivated individual with the ability to problem solve, initiate action, and complete projects in a timely manner with minimal supervision;

Your Role
This role serves as the eyes and ears for the Chief Operating Officer (COO), connecting organizations, projects, and critical business information to the COO and serves as a trusted partner to deliver against the priorities of the business.  This role will support multiple departments and functions and at any time could be involved in Human Resource initiatives, Corporate Impact activities and Sustainability projects.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Guest Services Manager, the Guest Service Agent will:

Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times with guests and team members;
Comply with all company standards and brand standards, if applicable;
Interact with all guests during check-in and check-out procedure;
Create and cancel reservations as required, handle check-in and check-outs;
Greet all incoming and outgoing calls in a professional and timely manner;
Review logbook, and emails daily and complete all tasks on the checklist;
Maintain proper operation of Front Desk telephones, be familiar with daily sell rates;
Balance and prepare individual paperwork for closing of shift with hotel standards;
Work closely and maintain proper communication with all hotel departments;
Handle guest registration and room assignments, accommodating special requests whenever possible;
Handle guest check-ins/check-outs in accordance with hotel credit/cash handling policies in an efficient and friendly manner;
Resolve customer complaints; assist customers in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, in-house events, directions, local attractions, check cashing, gift shop, safety boxes etc.;
Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor or department manager.
What We are Looking for...

Customer Service experience, preferably in a Hotel Front Desk position;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential;
Computer literate in Word and Excel. Maestro's or Opera experience is an asset;
Results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well in a busy and demanding environment;
A self-motivated individual with the ability to problem solve, initiate action, and complete projects in a timely manner with minimal supervision;
Must be friendly, energetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated, with a professional appearance;
Available to work days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required;
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Housekeeping Room Attendant
We are currently looking for a Housekeeping Room Attendant. The Room Attendant performs routine duties in the cleaning and servicing of guest rooms and bathrooms under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor and/or the Executive Housekeeper. Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper and/or designate, the Room Attendant is responsible for:

Enters and prepares the room for cleaning;
Makes the bed(s) according to hotel standards;
Replenishes guestroom and bath supplies;
Delivers and retrieves items on loan to guests e.g. iron and ironing boards;
Performs rotation cleaning duties (e.g. steam clean carpets, spring cleaning, super cleaning etc.) as required;
Maintains work area and equipment according to hotel standards;
Attends to guest calls, guest requests /guest complaints in the area assigned to him;
Responsible for achieving and exceeding guest satisfaction;
Other duties as assigned. 
What we are looking for...

Move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and in excess of 25 pounds with assistance;
Ability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related equipment over sloping and uneven surfaces;
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping;
Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift;
Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination;
Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required.

Sous Chef
We are currently recruiting for a Sous Chef to help take its food and beverage operations at our Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre located in Thunder Bay, Ontario to the next level! The Sous Chef is called upon to support the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef and represent them in their absence. The Sous Chef often is the one responsible for training new staff members and managing the team. They must be able to think on their feet, make sound snap decisions and come up with creative concepts within the restaurants and banquets. They are comfortable taking on any task in the kitchen and are familiar with the operation of all kitchen equipment and assist in leading the daily operations. The Sous Chef will offer culinary expertise as it relates to all areas with the hotel.  
The Sous Chef is responsible for providing supervision, coaching and guidance to existing team members and ensuring the Hotel’s culinary vision is achieved.  This is a hands on role, working alongside the team members, while also working collaboratively with the Executive Chef to help lead and manage the execution of the Food & Beverage vision for the hotel.  Along with being in tune with current food and beverage trends, the role requires a leader who is passionate, creative and brings strong food and beverage presentation skills and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences for all guests. They are experienced with the preparation of all menu items and are responsible for ensuring production standards are met and checking for food quality, flavour and plating to ensure guest satisfaction. They participate in all aspects of food preparation and ensure menu items are plated and served on time. They ensure quality control by strictly following recipes and production standards.

Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and functioning of the kitchen working areas, including equipment and utensils;
Organize the daily BEOs and ensure prep and production for all items are undertaken;
Familiar with the operation of all kitchen equipment;
Assist in leading the daily operations;
Exercise food cost controls by reducing wastage through monitoring production;
Consult daily with the Chef concerning menus, specials, Banquets, special events, and quantities to be produced and served, and reports any big quantities left over;
Monitors production standards and product quality to ensure efficient service and that brand standards are met;
Assist with duties such as ordering, inventory, costing, waste control, training, and ensuring food safety standards are always met;
Ensures that prep levels are met and ready for the next service;
Ensures that fridges are organized, the product is rotated, storerooms are cleaned, and the dish area is organized and takes the lead on the shift in directing that these activities occur;
Perform other duties as assigned.
